About this journey
We’re going to the culinary and cultural capital of Mexico during one of the most amazing times of the year! If you love beauty, eating, bustling markets, bright colors, street art, friendly people, arts and crafts, rich history, and hands-on experiences, this is your trip!
While the famous holiday of El Día de los Muertos is celebrated throughout Mexico, the city of Oaxaca is its epicenter. We'll learn the incredible history of this place which has been inhabited since 11,000 B.C. and explore its traditional medicine, curanderismo, and ceremony through an indigenous lens. Get hands-on as we shop local markets for fresh produce and herbs and then cook traditional food. Taste locally-sourced coffee, cacao/chocolate, mezcal, and more while visiting local producers. Soak up (and shop for) incredible arts and crafts! We promise this journey to Oaxaca will saturate and inspire your senses!
The journey will be facilitated by local guide Citlali and Jeff Greenwald, ET's founder.
For ease and fun, we are staying at the same boutique hotel the whole time, so you can unpack and enjoy each day's activities.
