About this journey
This March, join Professor Scott Siegel on a Support for the Cuban people journey and share the magic and love of Queer Havana. We'll meet leaders of the Cuban LGBTQ community and learn about their efforts to end discrimination. We’ll attend workshops to learn about how community care works when government support is scarce. We'll also engage with Cuban artistry by attending concerts, museums, and even a drag show!
About Scott Siegel:
I’m an associate professor of international relations and comparative politics at San Francisco State University. My research centers on LGBTQ politics and how political parties respond to changing public opinion.
During the journey, I’ll provide helpful information about the history of the fight for LGBTQ rights around the world, including in Latin America, and am available to answer many of your questions about social movements and life under dictatorships. I’m so excited to be joining you!
