Join us to celebrate KCSM’s 60 years promoting 24-hour jazz in the Bay Area. This Humanitarian Delegation journey provides you with a way to legally travel to Cuba while learning about the rich history of Cuban music and jazz as curated by KCSM. Explore diverse musical genres, Cuba’s visual and graphic arts, and explore the relationship between personal expression, community development, and musical collaboration.
We’ll visit studios, galleries, World Heritage Sites of extraordinary beauty, and neighborhoods that have been revitalized through imaginative art projects. Much of our time will be spent meeting with individual artists and musicians, visiting community art projects, and seeing how music is integrated into the public sphere in Cuba’s Socialist culture. Guided visits to important museums and cultural centers will also be featured.
